Default Need breakup advice?

My girlfriend of 1 year dumped me a month ago and went off with another dude. I was living with her Godparents and had to go pay them for staying at their house. I told them everything that happened - that she cheated on me, etc. I told them to help get my stuff back b/c I do not want to speak to her or see her. Was this a huge mistake?

Well, while it might be less painful to you at the moment you run the risk of getting only part of your stuff back. Likely their loyalty is to her. I know it's tough but you need to get your things yourself because otherwise, you may not get all of it.

Was what a huge mistake? Not wanting to see her? Getting your stuff back? Asking for the Godparents help? None of these sound wrong to me. The only mistake I would see is if you tried to get her back.

i think what you did was in order, you need your stuff and I'm sure they needed to know what happened.

It is very evident that your girlfriend did not want to be with you because she felt that another guy could give her what she was looking for. The fact is that you say she cheated on you with him and figured I will just go with the other guy, you have a right to move out of that house as you and your girlfriend are no longer together, you are only doing what you needed to do so you could move and that is the best you can do.
