Default How to help someone with depression and suicide thougths?

She's 23, and recently had a bad breakup and problems with her family coming from it. I've talked and comforted her but she's still seriously thinking about suicide. I can't follow her around all day so are there any simple methods i can use? Please don't give answers that involve involving someone else.

Tough. Any good answer will require involving someone else. You clearly are not a psychiatrist or psychologist. You don't have the skills to help this woman.Get here help. Now. Contact your local mental health center. Contact a suicide prevention hotline. Get her to a hospital. You see she needs help and yet you are not able to provide it.Be a true friend and find someone who can.

yes, just let her know that there is hope after every strom, and for her to know that god love her. The only person that she needs to turn to right now is the lord, there is no problem that is to big for him. Let her know that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whom so ever shall believe in him shall be saved.

Sorry to hear that.Though I've to commend you for being so supportive. As to your question I wish I know the answer; I lost my Dad a year ago&am helping my Mom get through her grief...It's never easy, but being a good listener helps.Don't pass judgment or try to be a counsellor.Let her have her space. Let her know she's not alone.
