Is it normal to lose your appetite when you go through a hard breakup?
I can't eat anything and I can feel myself getting weaker. I'm sooooo depressed and food is just nasty to me right now. Have any of you felt this way and what did you do?
I lost over 82 lbs when i was younger, because of a horrible break up with a man who i trusted to be honest with me. it wasn't until a friend stood me up before a mirror and i realized i looked like a skeleton that i knew how bad it was.then a friend said something that really stuck with me. She said,"Why are you punishing YOURself for what HE did to you. It isn't hurting him a bit, you killing yourself."After that I snapped out of it; and began a road back to health. Try drinking cup of soup in the late morning and in early afternoon and evening. add a cracker or two. then the next day scramble a fluffy egg and have a piece of toast.don't gorge at first but start slowly and add a little something each day.God bless you and forget the creep. Why would the person do anything so miserable to a nice person like you?let us know how things go.
Getting together with a loved one or friend can help improve the appetite, so if you know a buddy you can have a pity party with just get some snacks and go for it.
Oh my you really got it bad....yeah some people go through that ....i can tell you really loved this person deeply....but do you think it makes since to stave yourself to death?.....how can that jerk ever say he's sorry and he wants you back if you are dead?......EAT SOMETHING!! even if you just eat saltine crackers....EAT something...besides...right now you are just going through a depression and just like any other break up...your heart will heal.....don't give that a@@hole the satisfaction of seeing you hurt.....eat...get health...go out to the mall and buy the sexiest outfit you can find and make that jerk eat his heart out!!
It's not uncommon. It's just that when you break up, the last thing on your mind is food. My advice would be to do something to take your mind off the situation, and slowly you'll start getting your appetite back.
