What to do after the first date?! I like her but odd situation. Help!?

Went on a first date..hit it off EXTREMELY well..the entire time she kept saying she was nervous but she came out of it and didn't wipe a smile off the entire time. she text ed me right after saying thank you and that she had fun. She further text ed me saying I was really cute/handsome. She really hasn't text ed much since the date though so I'm not positive of her interest level. I really want to ask her on a second date but when should I do it?

Lastly, she told me on the date that she dated a guy for 7 years and he ended up dying in a car accident and two years later she is ready to move on. I really don't want to come off pushy and do you think someone could really be ready after that so soon?

Did you text her back with positive reinforcement after she text ed you that day? She might have stopped testing you because she felt that she was putting herself out there too much, and you weren't showing any signs in return. Often when someone shows they really like you, after wards they realize they were too obvious, and try to compensate by being more aloof. The ball is in your court, so if you really like her, definitely go for it and ask her on a second date! You don't have that much to lose. If you like someone, show it, or you'll regret it later. Asking her on a second date is not being too pushy, as long as it's not the very next day. Good luck!
