Hey I have a question about Jehovah Witness and Dating?

Are Jehovah witness teen allowed to date if their like 15 or older, or does it just depend on the parents instead of the religion?thanks!

I'm a JW and it is recommended that we date when we are ready for marriage instead of dating just for fun. Although I do know people who's parents allowed them to date at 16. There is no specific age where our religion says we can date but a recommendation of dating when you are ready for marriage because we use dating as a way finding a marriage mate. I started dating at 18 and a half I'm 21 now and happily married. Check out watchtower.org they have a book on there for young people called young people ask it will answer the questions you have better than this website. It's a pretty cool website they have podcasts of the young people as articles. I hope I helped take care

The purpose of dating is to determine whether or not you want to marry the person you are dating. That being the case, people are encouraged not to date unless they are at the point in their life where they are ready for marriage(both legally, as far as age is concerned, as well as financialy). Dating simply for fun more often than not leads to immoral behavior.
