Default Female health question: Are you missing an ovary due to surgery or other reasons?

How is that going to affect us when menopause sets in?

I had an ovary&fallopian tube removed 15 yrs ago, when i was 27yrs old, due to a cyst that twisted the ovary&tube&cut off the blood supply to my womb. I can't see that it is going to affect us any more, or less, than someone who still has both, and my Drs told me it wouldn't change anything for me at all. Alot of people think because you have one removed you only have half the chance of getting pregnant, only have periods every other month etc. This is all nonsense, the remaining ovary just takes over, so to speak. We are born with far more eggs in each ovary than we will ever need, so if you only have one you have enough eggs in it for it to do the job of two.How do you think it is going to affect you? What are your worries?
