Default Can male to female transsexuals and female to male transsexuals help each other?

As a male to female transsexual I know that I could help a female to male transsexual with a little bit of becoming a male after spending years living as a one. As a male to female person I could certainly learn from a former woman on how to be female. I think our groups should get together and save alotof money on better advise than paying counselors.

I thought transsexuals were the opposite gender on the inside. So they do not actually know what it is like to be their own gender. (in the mind). So why would they be good at teaching some one else to be their own gender?I would think trans gendered people should teach other trans men/women to be the gender they want to be. E.g. FtM's helping other FtM's and vice versa.

Yes, I think both could help each other. The experience, in either direction, has to be very similar. In fact I'm sure there are support groups where transsexuals go to talk about their problems, share experiences, and give advice. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that there were e-mail groups for that purpose also. I belong to several such groups--one for diabetics, one for owners of a particular kind of motorcycle, etc. Why not transsexuals?

i would think sure it would help. people with similar experiences or background or such have more to share and learn from each other. group therapy rather than individual might be more economical and also better for all since you get the professional direction and the personal individual experiences and ideas.

you are wrong, I am a transsexual woman and I can say I did not live a real life before the transition. I don“t think I could teach a female to male transsexual how to act in society.
