I can only speak for the female enlisted side, but I love it.It was hard leaving my husband and daughter for my deployments and for all the extensive training that I've done, but the homecoming is the best feeling in the world.Daily, you'll go through everything the males do - you're not a girl, you're a female - and a female is expected to do the same thing as anyone else in the military.I have a friend who has gone to the dark side and gotten her Commission... she loves it, but she's a butterbar with a lot to learn. She tends to over-inflate her importance (as so many butterbars do) and dreams of putting a Sergeant Major at parade rest (yeah, she's crazy).Generally speaking (and this is mostly just my opinion) female enlisted personnel get more respect than female officers do. I think - and am guilty of this too - that people view being a female officer as one of the easiest jobs in the military. A cop out, so to speak.Anyway - hope this helps!
