i'll be 36 in a few weeks...i'm not trying to right now...but,have a 13 yr old son,and would love to have another child, preferably a daughter..but another son would be fine too..i'm not a major complainer..anyway..i've been active in the past..and he was my first, and only pregnancy...have tried almost everything, except the expensive medical procedures..i do have a"anovulatory cycle"though, but ,my menstrual cycles have always been outta wack, since i was 12..i conceived at 22....and it's been almost 14 yrs,of tryin..not continuosly..but"trying"..effortlessly.. I'm wanderin if maybe my tubes were tied without my conscent.the doctor who had to do my emergency c-section,left the country, because of malpractice suits.i'm not gettin any younger..and at this point..i'm really not tryin to have a baby..I was just needing some helpful advice,or any"old tales"that have worked...when that right guy comes along ,if ever,again..I have talked to my doc. but ,he suggests the pill,4 regulation4 nowhas anyone else ever had a wide gap between pregnancies?over 10 yrs?

My friend had her first child at 21. She and her husband practiced NO birth control whatsoever, both of them very happy and healthy, and it still took 9 years for her to get pregnant again.

i'm having the problem right now too. Ive been trying to concieve for 7 yrs now and i cant. I'm a healthy person in my 20's and I had one child when i was a young teenager. My mom made me give him to his other grandparents for adoption and now i havent been able to see him in years. I've always thought that another baby would feel the hole in my heart that i have for my son that i never had. Maybe you should get some test ran first to see whats going on..( blocked tubes, ovalation, etc...) Sorry you feel like that. its really hard.

Go with the flow. If you're meant to have another child you will.

Fertility does decline with age in normal women. It would be most unlikely that your ob would've tied your tubes because that's more work and he would've wanted to get paid for it of course.
