Default I am looking for some advice for when I visit a friend and his terminally ill dog.?

My friend's dog (an older dog) has been diagnosed with an inoperable tumor on her heart. I am going to visit them just to be there for them. I am asking for any advice that may be helpful to both of them with my visit. Thanks.

Can you take your friends to a place where they will have a memorable day together? Perhaps a nice leisurely walk with you along the beach or the shore of a lake while you guys talk and the dog explores would be just the thing to put a smile on your friend's face...I'm sorry, I know it's tough...you are a good friend.

Don't say to your friend that"the dog will be better off"when it's out of it's misery or pain. Pet owners don't want to hear that.If it is brought up, just tell your friend that you wish there was something you could do, but since you can't you can just be there to cry with them when it's time!
