Ok my best friend falls in depression every year around christmas. Personal reasons that I will not share but I don't know how to help her. can anyone help me by giving me the idea?
Tell her she is not alone and many people go thur it every year...maybe take her some place that doesn't do much for xmas like bowling or something..but get out and not sit a home....
Try to get her out of the house. Simple things like driving around looking at the Christmas lights. Or if she won't go out just show up with some pizza, beer, Chinese take-out or whatever and hang out with her and try to make her laugh, watch funny movies, etc.
There are many who do not so much celebrate Christmas as survive it. This time of year really exacerbates any family problems you may have and it is worse if you are alone. Be sensitive to your friend's needs. Many who do not wish to be reminded of their difficulties at this time of year are still very much in need of a friend. The usual round of office parties and drunken revels do not help much. Spending some quality time with your friend over a meal or an evening of movies and popcorn might be more helpful. Try something different but above all be sensitive to your friend's needs.
