Q: I have a friend that is in trouble loosing his house, morgage question?

He has been 6 months late and they will be taking his house soon. I can help him out money wise in about two months, but is there a way that he can do something to extend the time so that they don't take his house away?

Call the lender, they are the only one that can extend the time.He might also want to ask for all the paperwork they have, they should provide the original note, that way he knows who really owns his mortgage, and who to talk to.

He can only contact the lender. With how far behind he is, it might be too late. Tell him to call the lender today to arrange a payment. They will try if they really can, obviously they lose money if they foreclose.

Only the lender can answer this question. The lender will not discuss this with you.But this may be a band-aid on the problem, if he cannot afford the property, giving his a couple months of assistance may just be delaying the inevitable.
