Default What is the best advice to give my friend?

My best friend who is a boy is 17 years old with an 6 months year old baby. He hasn't seen his child in 3 months because the baby mother doesn't want my friend in her and the baby's life. I don't want my friend to end up like this dads out here in the world that don't care for their kids, especially cause he is at an young age with a child. Can you give advice that I could tell him so that he is able to be with his son even if he isn't with the babys mother?

he just really has to stand up for himself and say that it is his too! And that that child is half himself, 2 halves make a whole

Tell him to take her to court so he can get visitation rights if she refuses to let him see his own baby especially before she decideds to put him on child support.

If there isn't already a custody order in effect, it's time. He needs to ask for joint custody of the baby. Also, if there is one in effect, there is also a visitation order. She cannot legally keep him from seeing the baby. He will have to tell her if she keeps the baby from him, he will go to a lawyer and sue her. She's in contempt of court by not following any court order giving him visitation/joint custody and she cannot dictate to him who he can/cannot be with when he has the baby.

It is tough for someone that young to have a child, but he is the father, so he does have the right to see the child.

I think he's too young to be a father at 17 and it might actually not hit him yet about needing to be with a child. He must see huge possibilities about his future and he probably can't give much thought to the child. Who knows, he might even be relieved that the mother is taking charge of the child?I think if you are acquainted with the mother, you can consider talking to her because she has to allow the child to see him. Doing everything by force just disrupts the child's life. I am sure if your friend himself is concerned about his child, he would try his hardest to convince the mother.I think its great that he has a friend like you who wants to make sure he does the right thing.

first off, stop having kids when your a kid yourself!! GOD! I swear, everyone on here is in their early teens with kids! It's called birth control people!! I can understand third world countries having no control over having kids, but here in the states you have no excuse! Educate yourself!second, now that he's found himself in this mess that will haunt him for the rest of his life, he's gonna have to find a way to gain some trust with his"baby's momma"so he can have some kind of agreement for visitation. If that doesn't work, he's going to have to go before the court and maybe have to prove himself that he's a capable father or something.STOP HAVING UNPROTECTED SEX!!
