Since when does a trip to mean that your going kiss? It could mean a break up, or a date, or watching a cool movie, or just a trip to the movies. Since when do you automatically assume a kiss.

Do wear lip balm, but don't coat it on so many times it's waxy. Since you're both relatively young maturity-wise, I'd stick to little to no tongue action. Barely part your lips to where his bottom lip fits a bit and only stay in one position for a second or two. You don't HAVE to part your lips, but in my experience, it makes it more enjoyable. Just don't suck his face. :P

First let me say that your first kiss with your new boyfriend is so exciting. Yes, wear your lip balm, which is better then lip gloss that will get all over his lips. Try not to apply it just before you think you will kiss so he doesn't have to wear it too. As far as when it will happen that is hard to say. He may kiss you in the movies. If he didn't and you want to kiss him say something like "hey baby how about I kiss your lips and make it all better" I can just about guarantee he will say yes then make your move.
