i wanted to find out if the french braid was really started in France along with the french kiss...or did people just give them these names for no reason?

it was just created by the French so they named it after them

no one really knows the history of french braids because it traces so far back into history. Although, due to the name, we can infer french people were the first to turn a braid inside and out.

The french kiss however has been around instinctively with animals even before evolution and is known as exploring ones immune system and saliva. However it became popular from french culture.
