I am a writing romance novel set in the 1600's. The couple is never going to see each other again. I want their last kiss to be a French one. But, what should I call it?

You're writing in English? I have two options. You can say, "French kiss," or "deep kiss."

I looked up the translation for French kiss on word reference.com. It says that one translation is "UN Basie Alla Frances" (French kiss). It says that this translation is antique slang. Another possible translation is "UN Basie profound." "Profondo" means "deep".

I think you could just call it a deep or passionate kiss, and people will get the idea.

However, if this is a romance novel, I assume when you actually describe that moment you will "show, not tell" about the kiss? So you'd describe what they experience, such as "he pulled her close and his lips came down upon hers. He demanded entry and began to plunder her mouth. Heat streaked through her veins. She stroked her fingers over his face, memorizing every detail." All that sort of thing! Just checking.
