I've been with my boyfriend over a year now and when we first kissed he was...well, not good. But it was obvious to him, I felt bad but I couldn't just pretend he was a good kisser.
Odds are your first kiss is the same. No one wants to kiss someone who is doing something wrong, if she hasn't said anything you are probably fine. If she did say something, ask her to show you how to. Then you get more kisses and actually learn something.
If you don't want short pecks, hold it longer. After a while of...long pecks... go for some tongue. Making out is fun, don't be afraid to just go for it. She might be nervous too.
