Default If we are trying to distinguish love from desire, what question do we ask?

I think the question is"Would you willingly protect them from yourself?"but I want to hear other opinions.

If you are male or female bring yourself manually to orgasm then immediately after think of the other person ; if you still love him that is love but if you feel that you are much less attracted to him, that is desire.

Love is a need.Desire is a want. You can have either or both. Why protect? Enjoy!

Well. Maybe desire is always a component of love, it could be they're inseparable."I love you, but I have no desire to be with you."It doesn't jibe.Hmmm, but assuming you're right, that they are two different things, then maybe a good question is:"If I have everything I want and need from someone else, do I still love him/her?"Maybe one of the Greek myths about Eros would help you out here.

If there is a question to be distinguished....then it's not love.Love is certain...unquestionable... Desires shadow and fade.

love is harmless, desire is harmless, acting on either seperately is harmless (if your responsible.) When its mixed, your playing with fire. Sometimes it ends up good, sometimes very painful.

When you are stimulated to see to the needs of those you love rather than cater to the wants of yourself, then you have discovered the path of love.
