I have never writen a book but I would love to. Help?!?
What should I write about? I read action/adventure and magic books. Suspensful books.I would love to write a book but I don't know what to write about. Don't tell me what to write about just maybe some ideas. And I need tips and stuff that I need to know for when writing a book. Anything and everything will help me.
Thanks!!!!
I don't have an idea for you but a good advice that helped me is show don't tell. For example if someones mad show they are mad by clenching his fist or something. Or he started yelling at cars that passed. Not he was mad.
Write a story about a character who builds up conflict over time to make a difficult choice. Conflict is the essence of a good story. If there's no external conflict (with a competitor or adversary) and/or internal conflict (what should I do? How can I fix this situation?), there's not much of a story.
Additionally, write what you know. If you're you, like in high school, the characters you write about should be mostly your age and younger if you want to write about someone whose thoughts and motivations and life you really understand. Writing extensively about characters much older than yourself or who have much broader experience would make a good creative exercise, but would be difficult to pull off convincingly if you want to write for an audience.
Honey... I don't understand how can "wanting to write a book" anticipate an idea for an actual book. "What to write about" is an idea. You should think about the things you love, stories you love to read, stories you WOULD love to read but they don't exist, go to the places you find inspirational, think about situations you could use, do some research and finally think of an actual story. For example, if you love mythology, you will do research on world mythology. Now, think of something that hasn't been written yet. Take, FOR EXAMPLE (you should think of something that interests you, not just take this like an ultimate idea), Nordic mythology (since Greek is done) and then twist it, turn it upside down, paint it yellow, make it modern, mix it with something else, do what ever just - come up with an original idea of your own.
That is how you force the idea. I'm sorry, that's all I can do.
Actually, that's all I WILL do.
I am a author as well, but writing a novel is a tedious and long process but real fun when you get into it. If you read a lot of books examine how things are described
such as
"as he lays there in the bed of the truck half a sleep with the sunlight dancing on his face."
make sure you describe as much as you can
your readers wont be interested in
"and a man walked in, his name was bob and bob is the protagonist" to give a sloppy example you want
A young man of 18 years old he was about 5 foot 9, his eyes were a a beautiful teal. His hair was brilliant red, and flowed out as a fire would from the fire pit. he wore a black polo shirt, with matching jeans jeans. He stood upright and did not slouch. He was a fit boy for his age. The most notable expression that is noticed a lot, is the fact that he always looks forward, with a slight blank expression. It was slightly difficult to notice if he was in a bad or happy mood.
His name was Christopher Collins. He was a very honorable, loyal person, with a sense of pride and integrity. it was easy to mistaken him to be in the military.
an explanation like the one above. Other than that, the planning and character design is a helpful one, Write out the storyline and make character profiles (note: the story line will change as time moves on)
here is a template for you

Then build a time line and it will then write accordingly
Hi, also thanks for answering my question... anyway I can really tell you what to write because I'm still having that problem myself. Just use your imagination and think things that might or could happen, or happened, and that could give you a spark to a great idea.
