I am head over heels in love... some advice would be welcomed :)?
I think she is the most beautiful girl in the world. Always laughing with an amazing smile that makes my heart skip a beat every time I see her. A little background on her: she is 16 and of the LSD (Mormon faith) Blondie hair and hazel eyes. She is an amazing dancer and very intelligent academically and socially. She is always busy helping others or making others around her feel more accepted and cared about. A little about myself: I am 17 and have no current religion, and am light brown with hazel eyes. I enjoy dancing and traveling around the world to new places. I consider myself to be well informed and in a sense smart in my own way. Socially, well I am alright with the whole high school thing.
My question is: what should I do? I have never asked a girl out on a date before and have never been on a date myself. I find myself boxed in, wanting to be with her and around her more, but not knowing what to do about it or how to go about it. Any help would well appreciated
go up to her and say hi and let her know you would really like to get to know her better and to do something with her and if she might be interested in getting together with you sometime. movies , bowling etc... just make the first move or u might regret it someday. lots of luck to u
First of i think it is very cute that you like this girl so much. I fell in love with the love of my life at 15 years old..sophomore year and we have been together for 4 years so i may be of some help. As far as what to do....girls usually wait for the guy to ask the girl out....(although that was not in my case) ha ha..but us there any indication that she may like you back? has she dropped you any hints? Texts, long conversations? Well if she has your in luck because then it is just that much easier. I know you want to do everything right by the book but sometimes the best things are done spontaneously ...in my case it was...i was on my space and simply sent a message to my man saying "i like you, what do you think about that?" and he replied with "i like you too" and its all history from there. just be very straight forward with her as girls dint like mind games at all...okay so if you text...just "i like you" NO LETTERS Lil maybe a phone call (might be harder) if your really comfortable you can just say "would you like to go see that new movie that just came out ______ the date is one me?" then you will see if shes even interested in going anywhere with you at all...Lil.....at the movies you can ask her if she would like to be your girlfriend.......any more questions just ask good luck and remember dint be scared girls like confidence ...
You want some good advice. This is your lucky day, because I am going to give you some good advice.
You typed in your question that you yourself, do not go to any sort of Church at the present time.
You want to be near this girl that you like, is this not correct?
You, not going to any sort of Church at the present time, having nothing stopping you from going to any Church that you happen to decide to go to... And her at the same time going to THE Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints..
Sooooooooooo...
The answer is obvious. Go to Church with this Mormon friend of yours. Simple.
Some answers to questions are complicated, and rather oblique. Not this question. The answer to your question is very straight forward and obvious.
And what do have as an objection to learning more about religion?
It may not have occurred to you, but maybe part of the reason that you like your friend is because she is a Mormon. Learning more about her Church, by going to her Church, will be learning more about her, and why you like her.
It will also put you in a different category in her mind.
This is jumping way way way far ahead, but, this is important for you to know about. Temple worthy Mormons marry Temple Worthy Mormons over 90% of the time. This is the highest rate of any same religion marriage in the United States.
So therefor, if you want to be in the permanent Non-Mormon friend category, you virtually guarantee that, by not knowing anything about the religion that she belongs to.
Beyond that there are many positive Young Adult activities (including dancing... depends on the area that you are in, so you will need to check on it like I previously mentioned).
Mormons are all about celebrating life not the sins of the World.
So look into that. And what is a date after all? This may not be what you were hoping for, but there is no reason why it could not eventually lead to something more substantial as far as you having the relationship that you want, with this young LDS Mormon.
Meanwhile you can read some books (start out with The Book Of Mormon, The Second Witness Of Jesus Christ) and then you will have some good opportunities for some heart to heart conversations about what you have read when you get a chance to talk with her, from time to time.
Not every conversation has to be about what you ate last Tuesday, or something equally as trivial. Nothing wrong with talking about high level subjects, that are actually very interesting, from time to time.
Of course you won't want to do that all of the time, but it will certainly add to the relationship that you have with this young lady if you're asking the right questions, and moving in a positive direction ethically and morally yourself.
So this is how you win her trust. You show a little confidence in yourself, you put aside a few preconceived notions, allow yourself to think out of the box, and your on your way.
Plant your feet firmly on the ground and leave them there. She'll think of you as someone to convert at best. Mormons will use your feelings to do so, if you allow them to. Make no mistake. Don't make Prue-regrets in your life. Let her find a good temple ready Mormon missionary to date then marry. That's what will make her a goddess. Nothing else. And she well knows that.
Joseph Smith was a con man. People paid him money to find treasures. His excuse for not finding treasure was it was guarded by spirits. He was arrested as a "juggler," or "con man." He was brought before a justice of the peace. The judge ascertained that there was enough evidence to try him. This was in Bainbridge, N.Y., in 1826, The judge was Albert Neely. Smith was labeled a "glass looker". The evidence against Smith was sufficient that, if Smith had not left town, he would have been judged guilty. Smith then went on and fabricated the Book of Mormon. He got his idea for the book from Ethan Smith's View of the Hebrews, or "The Tribes of Israel in America".He supposedly used a pair of spectacles to "translate" the plates for the Book of Mormon, friends and relatives said he used the same stone he used in his former money digging scheme. The gold plates never existed according to a witness. An early Mormon convert heard Harris say "I never saw the plates."
Details can be found in "Joseph Smith and the Origins of the Book of Mormon", by David Persuitte.
There has not been found one piece of archaeological evidence to support the story of ancient America found in the Book of Mormon. In the 1950s, the LDS church financed "the largest archaeological project ever funded by a religious institution" It was successful in that it uncovered an enormous amount of archaeological information about ancient America, but as far as providing any evidence for the Book of Mormon, it was a failure. That has not been changed by any subsequent archaeological findings.
In his book, Losing a Lost Tribe: Native Americans, DNA, and the Mormon Church, Simon G. Southerton shows that the American natives show no evidence of Israelite descent, which contradicts what the Book of Mormon says.
Joseph Smith had an eye for women, so he instituted plural marriage and took over 50 wives, some of them the wives of other men.
Mormon doctrine:
God was once a man He has a body of flesh and bone and lives on a planet near the star Kolob. The sun gets its light from the Kolob. God has at least one wife, our "Mother in Heaven," but she is so holy that we are not to discuss her nor pray to her. We can become like God and rule over our own universe. There are many gods. In the highest degree of the celestial kingdom men have more than one wife. A righteous Mormon will see the face of God in the Mormon temple. If a Gentile becomes Mormon, the Holy Ghost actually purges his Gentile blood and replaces it with Israelite blood.
. Jesus was married. Jesus and Satan are brothers, They are our brothers. We are spirit children of Heavenly Father. Jesus was conceived by God by having sex with Mary. We should not pray to Jesus. The "Lord" in the Old Testament is Jesus in the New Testament, but different from "God the Father". Christ will not return to earth in any year that has seen a rainbow.
Before coming to this earth we lived as spirits in a "Prue-existence", in which we were tested. Dark skin is a curse from God, the result of our sin or our ancestors sin. If righteous, a dark-skinned person will become light-skinned. Not only will humans be resurrected to eternal life, but also all animals.
All humans before the Flood lived in the western hemisphere. The Ark transported Noah to the eastern hemisphere. Mormons should avoid traveling on water, Satan rules the waters. You can identify a false angel by the color of his hair, or by offering to shake his hand.
American Indians are "descendants of Lehi", but there is not a hint of the Hebrew language in any of the Indian dialects. The Garden of Eden was in Missouri. The Book of Mormon says that Lehi found horses in America. Horses did not exist in the Americas until the 16Th century. The Book of Mormon says that Nephi had a bow of steel. Jews did not have steel in this time period and iron was not smelted in the Americas until Spaniard arrived. The book of Mormon mentions "swords and cimeters." Scimitars were not around until the rise of Islam (500A.D.) The Book of Mormon mentions silk. This did not exist in the Americas at this time.
In D&C 130:3 it says, "The idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man's heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false."
