Canadian lady

Thanks for reading. First, excuce my poor English.
I am a Japanese man. I met a lady when I had studied in Canada for one year. We were in the same dorm and we sometimes studied, had lunch, dinner together. She took me a drive before I go back to Japan. We sometimes hugged each other, celebrated birthdays and, you know, I had a good time with her when in Canada. I know hugging is Canadian culture but for me it was fresh and good. We didn't have any sexual activity.
About 9 months have passed since I left Canada. We still talk over skype periodically. Now, I'm planning to go to Canada for a week to see her and I already told her I would. Then she told me I could stay at her house for a week and we were gonna go out and have fun. She is nice, beautiful and out going woman and I love her. The point I want to ask is, is there any hope? She might think I'm just a friend. But do Canadian women let 'a friend' stay at their houses? Please give me your opinions, ideas and so.
