Default Asking for Love advice on a message board?

Do you honestly think that asking for love advice on a message board is a good idea? It's good to have another perspective, but why not ask family or friends? People on these boards dont know you, they dont know your SO either. I think people must confuse themselves to death with all the different advice. Like, is he cheating on me, will my RL work out, my bf did this, what do you think? Why ask these questions to strangers?i understand they are not biased. I also think people on message boards can be crazy, negative and have had some bad experiences with love. I dont know if you can take some person's advice on a message board seriously. Personally i know that my family would not lie to me regarding love advice.I think it's fine if you're asking how to do something on the computer, does this hat match these gloves, what is the best food to feed my dog...but should i stay with my boyfriend? is just not a good question for a board.

Sometimes friends and family may lie so you feel better or hear what you wnat to hear, also, you get accustomed to what they will say, and sometimes want to see how others will handle the situation

Because they arent involved in your life and can give an opinion that isnt taking sides..unlike family and friends, who may have a hidden agenda. We all have experienced certain trials that we feel we can give advice on.

I'm with you on this one. to give someone the complete story and background it would take forever on some of these questions. i think that most of these people are dwelling too much on their problems and want to try to find more sympathy than answers to the problem they have. they hear from others'hey i can relate'or'he is horrible, leave him!'. they want people to tell them what they already know, but are too scared to do anything about. i think the other half are actually younger teens that really don't know what is going on and don't know how to find the answers. at that age they won't ask their parents'advice and their friends are just as clueless as they are, mainly cause they are just learning about it themselves.

Asking strangers gives a different point of view. Having a different point of view might reveal something you, friends, or family might never thought of and might make more sense. Also some people just have more experience or better advice.Having more options makes questions easier to answer. It's not bad to get a second opinion or more.
