i fell for my best friend and he is super sweet. we are trying the whole dating thing. but im scared to get close to him. how do i get over that. any tips or advice would be greatly appriciated

You are just going to have to get used to it. Try going to a movie, since you'll sit by him anyways and you'll get used to his presence

if he was your friend it would feel a bit awquad to be his girlfriend.but just give it time, dont rush.otherwise the results will turn out bad.=]
