I want to become a florist, need suggestions/advice on how to?

My dream has always been to own a flower-shop, however, I've been working in advertising most of my life.I would LOVE advice or suggestions from someone who has gone down this path, and any recommendations they have. I was thinking of taking a flower arranging class, thoughts? Anything would be helpful!
