Sarah McLachlan has some pretty good ones. Mad World, the one from Donnie Darko. If I remember correctly, Silverchair had a few. It depends on the genre.

(But why is this question in the gay, lesbian, and transgendered section? Am I missing something?)

If you don't mind country music you should try Red so vine. Songs by him that are sad - Giddy-up-go, Roses for momma,Teddy Bear. These are from the album RED SOVINE 20 all-time greatest hits.

Why do you love sad songs, if you are gay I know why you are sad, because it is such a sad lifestyle. I'm not trying to be funny either. Life is too short to be sad and gay.

You might like Rachel Yamagata's album Happenstance. She sounds a bit like Norah Jones, but more sophisticated. Check out tracks "Reason Why" and "Even So".
