Default Bible mentions helping the poor 3,000 times, gay marriage 0 times, WTF Christians?

Why are wacko Christians obsessed with gay marriage and creationism while stomping on the poor by supporting men like George Bush who drive the poor into the ground while elevating the wealthiest of the wealthy? I want an honest answer here, no pussyfooting with your Jesus-humping B.S.
answer the question. I'm deleting BS answers
oh, i guess yahoo doesn't let me delete BS answers! but hey, collapsing middle class, new jobs created with $9,000 less salary less than old jobs we're losing, top 2% of the wealthy owning 98% of the wealth, NO MENTION OF GAY MARRIAGE IN THE BIBLE, and these people answer saying "there's always been poor"... Well guess what, you can't stop poverty, but you sure as hell can minimizeXet and raise the quality of life of the impovrished.
I didn't get any money from tax cuts, only the richest of the rich did. I'm $16,000 in debt because I'm a college student -- even going to public college and working Americorps in the summer I'm in debt. I do more for the poor than most "enthusiastic Christians"... You think saying "God Bless" is charity, and I think giving a job and a hot meal is charity, that's the difference between you and me.

Try studying Sodom and Gomorrah - how and why it was destroyed.

God Bless.

The poor is a very touchy subject. your right, we shouldn't be worried so much about gay marriage. But remember, the poor were around before Bush too. Don't be naive.

Wow, such anger. Are you one of the poor being driven into the ground by that mean old man George Bush? Lololol!!
Consider updating your education to get a better job, since you're way too angry with America to even consider starting your own business.

Not all Christians think like that. I'm a Christian and I'm perfectly okay with gay marriage. I mean they aren't bothering my way of life so why should I bother theirs? I also feel that Bush is a horrible president who is doing nothing for the country's economy and I hate that the rich are becoming richer.

The Bible mentions Lot's of things. It doesn't mean they're true. You have to understand the Bible was written over 200 years after Jesus death, with that, the stories were misconstrued over the years of translations. King James really did a number on the Bible with his chauvinistic views. Imagine the telephone games being played for the past 2000 years. The story would be so out of context. Same thing with the Bible. This is my major problem with Bible thump's who just fall into EVERY WORD found in the Bible and how they follow it so blindly when it is so wrong from what it was. We will never know how it was really written.

Whatever you have to tell yourself, dude. Sounds like this gay life has you quite disturbed. By the way, FYI, the USA helps more hungry people in the world than any other nation.

I agree with" untold wisdom", you need to get yourself the Kings James version bible and read it. Yes I support George W. Bush, he was not the man to get this war in Iraq started. Thank your president Clinton for that along with letting ILLEGAL Mexicans in the United States. And try deleting my answer it will not work. United States helps so many countries that are starving, and in need of doctors treatment. If Your not satisfied with this country (USA) move out. Live in another country.

Well I think they are so blind - cited with their own righteousness and holier than thou Bull that they forget the true meaning of their religion. The problem is ignorance breads ignorance, and for the most part they are caught up in the passing down this ignorance.

They also fear what is different from them. And it makes them feel good to consider themselves messengers of God, when they are really just spreading ignorance, closed-mindedness, and fear.

I am Christian and I support what is right. Gays may be frowned upon for marriage...but my sister is gay. I still love her 100% as I do god. I can have beliefs and still work ship

The bible clearly states that the effeminant will not enter the kingdom of heaven. It also states that to be carnally minded is death. God greated adam and eve not adam and steve. It goes against god's law. Sodom and gommorrah is the perfect example. God punishes that which is not natural and against his will. Besides what does gay marriage and the poor have in common. You need to get your thoughts together. I will be praying for you. Read your bibles people before you ask such silly questions

Drives ya crazy...Look these are bigger issues that as the bible says judge not and you will not be judged. Love thy neighbor as thyself. Everyday you have interactions and relationships with other people. Help the people you deal with by cheering them up giving them encouragement making them smile and feel good, give them hope and comfort. You will do more good than all this rhetoric than you are looking at. There is no answer. Who did Jesus hang out with when he was here? Prostitutes, Murders thieves etc. God created everything for a purpose, let go and let God. It is not about you or me...

First I don't care for George Bush's policies. I do however oppose gay marriage because society has to set a standard of some sort. If my opinion differs from yours for example when it comes to taxes or other moral issues does that mean I am required to always give in to your opinion?

You mention that the Bible doesn't mention gay marriage. It does say that homosexual acts are an abomination to God. Would it not follow that if the acts are an abomination to God that sanctioning them by allowing gay marriage would be daft ?

I would agree that perhaps we spend too much time talking about gay marriage to the exclusion of equally important issues. I agree that helping the poor is extremely important. The Bible is a book of balance. It is so obvious to me that the function of sex is primarily to for procreation and to express love between a husband and wife.Homosexual "love" tends to focus mostly on pleasure and is for the most part unhygienic. If you were looking at homosexual love from an engineering standpoint it would be obvious that the human anatomy was not designed for most homosexual acts. Is this a justifiable pretext for bashing homosexuals and hating them? No. Does this mean I am required to support this lifestyle with my taxes ? No. Are you and I allowed to express our opinion in a civilized, rational manner? I hope so.

I am not God. I can only express my opinion about what I believe are His beliefs. I am merely expressing an opinion just as you are expressing an opinion. I know it is tempting to dismiss other people's opinions as nonsense but we all have free will to believe as we see fit. In the end God will sort it all out. It is more important to show love than it is to always be right.
