STOP THE PANIC RIGHT NOW MRS .... yes seriously no need to panic, you changed your name by deed poll so its perfectly legal to putting your new name your step daddy's name on the marriage certificate or any other certificate or document that you will sign now or in the future. Though of course now you have a married name.
Even if you had not changed the name by deed poll, nothing would happen, when you think about it, who in hells name picks a marriage certificate to find out any details - not a future boss, not no one, its the birth certificate that tells the story about us all. And its that certificate that is often requested throughout life for various things, such as visa's and passports. No one asks for the marriage certificate unless your going for a divorce, or for Immigration rules, but again, its not against the law to have put down the name your commonly known as, deed poll or not, and NO it would not annul the marriage. I put my wrong age on my marriage certificate, and just like you panic set in, I set about changing it and they said '' don't worry''. Like I said the birth certificate is the main document often requested in life.
When you think about it logically anyway, over hundreds and hundreds of years, people have lied and told whoopers and nothing ever comes of it. For example, say if your chasing your Ancestry, Great Uncle Joe, could well have said he was the father to baby number 3, whereas both he and his wife know full well he was not, but once put down on the birth certificate, that states that he was, so in reality when we chase our family ancestors, who's to say Great Great Grandmother Louise was even related to us at all.
Stop worry Honey., Just get on and enjoy your new married life. No one is coming to arrest you, and even if it came to light, nobody would and you would still be a married woman.
