Default Cannot decide on taking the relationship further. Please advice?

My girlfriend and I have been together for 5 years now. I am still not able to decide if I should marry her. Together we are happy most of the times but sometimes she makes me extremely mad with her attitude. I usually give in to avoid further confrontation, but she has to have the last word. Is this normal? We are from different religious backgrounds, it that the problem. I feel guilty that I am wasting time if I don't get married soon. I will appreciate any advice.

You should be happy and excited to spend your life with her.If you don't feel that way, it's probably not meant to be.You can try pre-marital counseling if you really think there's hope.

i think it is very unlikely you will ever find someone perfect - who does NOT make yo mad at least sometimes with her attitude - if by"attitude"you mean that you need someone who is more subservient or who gives in to you or who never expresses an opinion, then perhaps you are better off with someone from the same cultural background who is more"compliant". generally however if you do not know by now that you wnat to marry her, i think something is missing - you know in your heart you want something else but do not want th eguilt of breaking up wiht her after probably telling her you would marry her - and you would be better off just ending it and letting her move on.

Well it sounds like you are already married!None of this will go away with the"I do"of marriage. Including the happy times!!Nobody on Yahoo Answers is going to be able to legitimately answer this one for you. Your feelings are normal for sure, but only you know the pros and cons of her as a life partner. How does she feel?

there are two sides to this because 5 years is a long time to be with someone and still not be sure you want to spend your life with them so something is obviously holding you back and it seems to be the attitude issue. i don't know how bad her attitude is but if it bothers you to the point that you've waited this long and still haven't proposed, you need to come to a conclusion, however, it is hard to find someone that does make you happy in life so don't throw away what you have because of something that can be worked on and changed with some effort.
