How long should I wait to start a new relationship after ending a serious one?

My boyfriend and I of 11 months just ended our relationship, how long should it be before I start dating again? I've always tried to follow the advice that as long as the relationship lasted that's how long you should wait to start dating again.

Don't set a time limit. Just wait until someone you want to be with comes along.

my fiance and I are in the same situation. I think you should take some time for yourself, hang out with friends, party... and if that doesnt take him off your mind, then maybe you should date someone totally different from him. 11 months in a long time.... Stay strong

i try to date rite away. i got dumped on wed afternoon, i was available n looking wed. afternooo. helps the healing process if you get a new boyfriend. you get over it so much easier

It's whenever you feel like you're ready to have someone else in your life. Only you can decide that.
