Yes, that's normal, the vulva fills with blood in anticipation of mating. To not have to worry about all that, I would seriously consider getting her spayed.

Yup, completely normal. When dogs go into heat their vulva will get swollen and there will usually be quite a bit of discharge which makes a terrible mess!

If you have your dog spayed, than she wont go into heat anymore and you wont have to deal with the mess

Yes it is normal. Depending on your dog it can also be very messy. Best thing to do is fix your dog as soon as possible.

The body part you are referring to is not the vagina, it is the vulva. Yes, it normally swells when a female is in season. I'm sorry you didn't get your dog spayed already but you can still have it done. Talk to your vet SOON.
